Just about everybody, from Verizon to Uber and even Alphabet, are laying down man-hours, resources and cold hard cash to bring the hype for Super Bowl 50 at California’s Levi Stadium. Network capacities are being increased, services are being offered and the promotions are starting to roll in from every direction in preparation for the big game this Sunday, February 7. Naturally, this is a prime PR opportunity for just about everybody who’s willing to capitalize on it, especially embattled wireless carriers.
Not wanting to be left out of all the fun, Sprint made an announcement on Wednesday that they are running a few special #SuperBold50 promotions in celebration of the impending Super Bowl. These last-minute promotions, some directly related to the big game, are meant to catch the attention of subscribers living in the San Francisco Bay area or who will be headed there for the big game, although those who will be watching the game from outside Levi Stadium can still take advantage of Sprint’s continued half-off deal. While the Panthers go head to head with the Broncos, Sprint plans to lay down some promotions that will bring them toe to toe with other wireless providers as the San Francisco Bay heats up in more ways than one leading up to Super Bowl 50.
Getting the biggest billing is the continuance of their half-off deal. Qualifying plans from rivals within the U.S.’ big four, being Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T, will be cut in half on Sprint, with the same amounts of talk, text and data offered, as well as deals on devices. Sprint is willing to pay early termination and transfer fees of up to $650 per line for customers taking advantage of the deal. As far as area-specific goodies, Sprint has massively upped network capacity and performance in and around some hotspots in the Bay Area such as Levi Stadium where the magic will happen, the Moscone Center and some other key locations and area airports. On February 3rd, 4th and 5th, customers can enjoy special promotions at Sprint stores in the area that may net them tickets to the big game or some face time with running back Carlos Hyde.
