Hasbro brings YAHTZEE Blitz to Chromecast

Back in September when Google announced the new Chromecast along with the new Nexus devices, they announced that the Chromecast can now play games. Which it could do it before, but unofficially. So now you can play games on your TV against your friends with your smartphone as your remote. Which is a pretty cool feature, when you think about it. Hasbro then released YAHTZEE Blitz Big Screen, which is essentially YAHTZEE Blitz for Chromecast. Having said that, you will need a Chromecast to be able to play this game - as well as a TV.

Now with YAHTZEE Blitz for the Big Screen, you can out count, out score and "out fun" your family, as Hasbro states. It features the original rules as well as the new Blitz mode which can also be played. The new Blitz mode gives the roller and other players special powers. These special powers include things like freezing your opponent's die. Allowing you to then roll out the dice and rack up some extra points. Every player in Blitz mode starts with 3 offensive powers. Including Power Roll, you can also use your defensive 3 powers against your opponent in Blitz mode.

With YAHTZEE Blitz Big Screen, you can shoot the dice like a pro, also score some classic combos, in addition to playing the new Blitz mode. For everyone to play, they will need to have YAHTZEE Blitz Big Screen installed on their smartphone, or else it won't work. The game will also work with tablets that have the game downloaded already. Seeing as you are using your smartphone or tablet as the controller, it makes sense that you'd need to have the game downloaded and installed to be able to play.

YAHTZEE Blitz Big Screen is free, and you can unlock unlimited playing for just $0.99. There are plenty of other in-app purchases available too, which Hasbro charges $0.99 for each item that you want to buy. It's a pretty decent game, and one of only a handful that are compatible with the Google Chromecast at this time. You can pick up YAHTZEE Blitz Big Screen from the Google Play Store today.
