Fitbit Launch Alta Fitness Tracker, Now Available To Pre-Order

Wearables continue to be all the rage at the moment and one area which has seen impressive growth of late is fitness trackers. By now, most who follow fitness tracker news will be well-versed in Fitbit as they are one of the companies who seem to be leading the fitness tracker movement and generating some serious sales figures. That said, during CES last month, the company did announce a surprise product in the form of the Fitbit Blaze. What was most surprising about the Blaze, is that it is more of a smartwatch than a fitness tracker. Albeit, one which comes with fitness tracking tech inside.

Following which and in a return to form, Fitbit has today announced the launch of another new product and this one is much more fitness tracker oriented. The newly announced product is the Fitbit Alta. For those who may have been put off by the larger display on the Blaze, it would seem the Alta is designed to be far more discreet, while also boasting many of the features which come with the larger display watch-oriented Blaze. As such, it will track your movements during the day, as well as monitoring your sleep levels at night. Reminders and alerts for calls, texts and calendar appointments are also included. Likewise, so is Fitbit's SmartTrack technology, which allows the device to automatically begin monitoring and recording exercise activities without being prompted.

For those in the market for a new fitness tracker, the Fitbit Alta is now available to pre-order directly from Fitbit. It is being said that other online retailers including Amazon and Best Buy will also be opening their pre-orders from tomorrow. In terms of price, you are looking at $129.99 for the Alta and there is the option to buy additional/alternative straps. These consist of either rubberized, leather and stainless steel options with their cost increasing accordingly. The rubberized options will set you back $30, the leather options will cost $60 and the stainless steel option is priced at $100.
