Facer Transitions Into A Free App For Android Wear Owners

If you use an Android Wear device no doubt you have probably changed the watch face on it a time or two, and even if you haven't it's likely nice to know that these days, you have plenty of options at your disposal if you change your mind and get tired of what's currently gracing the display of the watch on your wrist. One of the more comprehensive options for customizing watch faces on Android Wear devices is through an app called Facer which lets users choose from tons of designs from artists and watch face designers or they can completely create their own to meet their specifications.

Today Facer is going from an app which previously cost users $1.00 and is now going to be available for free, and instead will make money on individual watch faces through designer partnerships. Although Facer plans to monetize exclusive and premium watch face designs including Garfield and American Dad, there will still be non-premium watch faces available as well, and of course users can still end up creating their own with Facer 2.0 just like before. All of the premium designs will be available in the Facer store at a set cost individual to that watch face, and to kick things off Facer will be handing out a few different premium watch faces at no cost to the user to entice them to interact with the store.

Along with the new free installation cost and the new store front with premium watch faces inside, there are more changes that come with Facer 2.0 to look out for. An under the hood change which should delight users is the added support for all new Android Wear devices, so now no one is left out of the mix. While it's sometimes fun to browse through all of the designs that have been created, you might not have that kind of time at the moment and may know exactly what it is you're looking for. Facer now has a new search capability that allows users to search through any watch face that's been published on Facer. Users can also now save watch faces to a favorites list, and there are a couple of included improvements with optimized battery life and an improved Facer Creator. If you haven't picked up Facer yet, you can do so by grabbing it from the Play Store.
