10. Huawei Mate S
Huawei has introduced Mate S during IFA in Berlin back in September. This handset has been available for a while now, and even though it’s no longer the latest and greatest Huawei has to offer, it still deserves a place on this list. Huawei Mate S isn’t exactly cheap, but it offers really sleek design, solid set of specs, and it comes in a Force Touch variant as well, for those of you who are into that sort of thing.
9. Xiaomi Mi 4C
The Xiaomi Mi 4C is a rather interesting phone. This device comes in both 2 and 3GB RAM flavors, and it is fueled by the Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core processor, which is still quite powerful. The Mi 4C, despite all that, is not all that expensive, it costs around $220 dollars no matter where you live. The device is also well-built, and ships with a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display.
8. Asus ZenFone 2 (ZE551ML)
The Asus ZenFone 2 was announced back in January 2015, and it’s still more than a compelling handset, especially if you consider its price point. The 4GB variant of this phone is definitely something we can still stand behind and recommend, and you also get Intel’s Atom Z3580 SoC here, and a rather solid 13-megapixel camera. The 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display is also available, and the phone offers a rather sleek looking body as well.
7. Meizu MX5
The Meizu MX5 was introduced by the company back in July, and even though it’s not exactly Meizu’s flagship any longer, this device is well worth it. The phone is fueled by the Helio X10 64-bit octa-core processor, while it sports 3GB of RAM and it comes in a couple of internal storage flavors. The 20.7-megapixel shooter on the back of this phone is quite capable, and below it, you’ll find a Laser Autofocus as well. The MX5 is actually quite affordable considering what it has to offer.
6. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3
Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi Note 3 back in November last year. This handset is, much like the Mi 4C, quite affordable, and it has plenty to offer you. The phone is made out of metal, and it ships with a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) IPS LCD display, along with 2 or 3GB of RAM. MediaTek’s Helio X10 64-bit octa-core processor fuels this phone, and a 13-megapixel shooter is placed on the back of the phone.
5. Xiaomi Mi Note (Pro)
Xiaomi Mi Note and Mi Note Pro have been announced quite a while ago. The company has introduced these two phablets side-by-side back in January last year, but they’re still quite compelling, especially the Mi Note Pro, which is also the company’s flagship still. The Mi Note Pro ships with a 5.7-inch QHD display, 4GB of RAM and is powered by the Snapdragon 810 SoC. The Mi Note, on the other hand, also comes with a 5.7-inch panel, but a 1080p one, and it features 3GB of RAM, while it is powered by the Snapdragon 801 processor.
4. OnePlus X
The OnePlus X is one of two OnePlus-branded handsets announced this year. This is the company’s mid-ranger, even though it definitely both looks and feels like a high-end offering. The OnePlus X features a 5-inch 1080p AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM and it is fueled by the Snapdragon 801 SoC. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here, and the phone is made out of metal and glass.
3. ZTE Nubia Z9
ZTE is at the very top of tech food chain in China. This smartphone manufacturer has released quite a few compelling devices last year, and the most unique one has to be the Nubia Z9. This bezel-less smartphone still has a rather limited availability, but it can be purchased through Chinese resellers even though it’s not the most affordable handset out there. The phone features a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 3 / 4GB of RAM, and is fueled by the Snapdragon 810 processor.
2. Meizu PRO 5
The Meizu MX5 might not be the company’s flagship, but Meizu PRO 5 definitely is. This phablet was announced back in September last year, and is definitely a compelling offering. Not only is it fueled by the Exynos 7420 SoC, which is quite possibly the most powerful SoC released last year, but it sports a fullHD AMOLED display, and it comes in 3 and 4GB RAM flavors. On top of all this, it is made out of metal, and its build quality is also great.
1. OnePlus 2
The OnePlus 2 is definitely one of the most compelling devices out there at the moment. Not only is it quite affordable for what it has to offer, but it also offers really high-end specs, and compelling software, for sure. The device features a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 4GB of RAM and 16 / 64GB of internal storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core SoC fuels it, and it also has a quite capable 13-megapixel snapper on the back. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes out of the box, and the company’s OxygenOS brings some extra functionality to it.
