HTC has been having issues turning a profit for a long time now. The company has released quite a few devices in 2015, and a number of them were high-end, but they haven't exactly been able to improve their position out in the market. The company has introduced the One M9, One M9+, One A9, One X9… and a couple of Desire-branded handsets last year. Well, if previous years are any indication, this Taiwan-based company will introduce their new flagship during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona at the end of next month.
We haven't exactly seen a number of leaks regarding the HTC One M10, and are still not sure the phone will be called that way, but a new leak has surfaced, along with some new info. This leak comes from Chinese forums, and contains an image which seems to have been created by a third party designer, at least according to the copyright lettering below the name of the device. We have searched HTC's official social media sites and were not able to find this image anywhere, which also indicates this is not official, even though it is possible HTC still didn't post this image. Either way, the information from the forum also says that the One M10 will be announced in March this year, which suggests it will be announced after the MWC. Now, in addition to all this, the leaked information also claims that the phone will sport a 3,000mAh battery on the inside, and that the camera cutout on the back will be round, unlike the one we've seen in the One M9. The Snapdragon 820 SoC has also been mentioned, and so has the fingerprint scanner, which will be a part of this package as well. The HTC One M10 will be made out of metal, at least according to the source.
Now, keep in mind that the source did mention this is a sample unit, and that the design might not be final. According to the provided info, the HTC One M10 will be announced in March, but it will go on sale in April. That's pretty much all the info that we managed to gather this time around, the 23-megapixel shooter has also been mentioned, but that assumption was based on an another rumor. Either way, take all this info with a grain of salt, as it usually goes with rumors, and stay tuned for additional information, we'll keep you in the loop.
