OnePlus Brings Free Shipping to Orders over $100

OnePlus is still a fairly new company, having been established back in late 2013, before announcing their first device in 2014 and two more in 2015. They are still very much a small startup, and thus we have an invite system for their smartphones. Up until now, most users had to pay for shipping. Which Standard shipping wasn't all that expensive, however the company announced today that every order over $100 will get free standard shipping. On top of that, OnePlus is also reducing the price of their priority shipping prices, for those that do want to get their devices a bit faster.

Free shipping applies to several different currencies, however the free shipping threshold is a bit different in each country. OnePlus have laid out the different currencies in their forum post, which you can check out. But those of you in Europe, that means â‚¬100, for free shipping. If you are ordering a case, or any other accessory from OnePlus, you likely aren't going to qualify for free shipping, unless you're buying a few cases. However, those that are buying the OnePlus 2, or the OnePlus X, you'll be able to qualify for free shipping. That's always a nice perk to have when you're spending that kind of money on a smartphone, though.

OnePlus does note in their forum post that giving free shipping, and reduced priority shipping, will affect their bottom line. However they also note that to be able to stay alive in this industry, they have to do their best to give their customers what they want. So it is a step that needs to be taken, and so they are taking it. Many online retailers already offer free shipping, whether that's from using a retailer like Amazon to sell their products, or using their own website. However, Google is still one of the few that does still charge for shipping (and it's not cheap at all). So this will give OnePlus a leg up, and hopefully a bit more customers. Additionally, OnePlus says that they have plenty more offers awaiting customers in 2016. So we'll have to stay tuned and see what they have to offer.
