New Acer Chromebook 11 Now Available To Buy For $179.99

During CES, there were a number of announcements which came through from a variety of manufacturers and spanning a wealth of markets. While the 'home connected' market seemed to be the big area for coverage during CES, there was a number of more traditional announcements which came through. Acer was one of the companies who made a number of announcements at the start of the week and one of them was the unveiling of a new Chromebook which was scheduled to arrive in due course.

The new Chromebook is the latest to join the popular Chromebook 11 series and came with the model number CB3-131. While a number of the specs are in line with the predecessor model, there were a number of notable improvements and especially in the display. Not to mention a more rugged build for those looking to pick up a more 'built to be portable' Chromebook. However, in spite of the unveiling, the actual availability of the latest Chromebooks from Acer was not fully detailed with the initial announcement simply noting that the Acer Chromebook 11 CB3-131 would land some time 'next month', in February. Well, for those who have been waiting, it seems it has landed a little earlier than expected as the new Chromebook 11 is now available to buy.

Amazon has the Chromebook 11 (2016) available to buy and priced in line with the already confirmed $179.99 price tag. If you need a reminder on what you get for that $180, the Chromebook 11 CB3-131 comes With an 11.6-inch display which makes use of a 1366 x 768 resolution. During the initial announcement, it was confirmed that multiple models would be available with their main differences coming in the form of various internal storage and memory combinations. However, at present the only model currently available is one which comes equipped with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The processor powering the latest Chromebook is an Intel Celeron (N2840) processor which clocks at 2.16 GHz, while this is of course, a device which comes running on Chrome OS.
