HP Announce New $199 Education Edition Chromebook 11


The Chromebook market is one which has seen a significant level of growth in the last year or two and especially when it comes to the education market. As the education sector does looks to further adopt Chromebooks in the classroom, more manufacturers are also looking to increase the number of classroom relevant Chromebooks that are available. HP is one of the most prominent manufacturers in the Chromebook industry and already have a number of options available, like the highly popular HP Chromebook 14. Well, the latest Chromebook destined for the classroom has now been confirmed today to be also coming from HP.

HP has today announced the introduction of a new Chromebook in the form of the HP Chromebook 11 G4 Education Edition (EE). As well as being designed for educational purposes, the EE of the Chromebook 11 is one which is designed to be durable and withstand the daily turbulence that a Chromebook for students might be exposed to. As well as being one which is designed to be as lightweight as possible with the Chromebook measuring only 20 mm in thickness (30 x 20.6 x 2cm) and weighing in at just 2.7 pounds. In terms of the specs, it looks like the EE of the Chromebook 11 will come sporting an 11.6-inch display which makes use of a 1366 x 768 resolution. On the inside, the Chromebook 11 EE will come powered by an Intel Celeron (N2840) processor, along with as much as 4GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. Battery life is always one of the big selling points with Chromebooks and this new one looks to be no different with HP stating that their new option will offer up to 9.5 hours of usage in between charges. Connections on offer include one USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 port, one HDMI port, as well as a headphone and microphone combined port.


For those thinking about picking up a new Chromebook and considering this as their next option, HP has confirmed that the Chromebook 11 G4 EE should be available to buy this month and prices will begin (depending on configuration) from $199.99.
