This week has now seen Xiaomi introduce their latest handset, the Xiaomi Redmi 3. As you would expect with a Xiaomi device, the Redmi 3 is the latest to join the company's ever-expanding army of competitively priced devices which come sporting a very decent level of specs. In fact, the Redmi 3 is not only the most recent Xiaomi device to join the company's range, but is also the latest to join the Redmi range and following on from the larger Redmi Note 3, which saw its unveiling in the closing months of 2015. As these are part of the same Redmi range of devices, you might be expecting them to be more similar than not. However, where Xiaomi has really succeeded is in offering consumers a wealth of devices and ones which differ enough for the devices to come with some more unique selling points
In terms of the new Redmi 3, this is a smartphone which comes equipped with a 5-inch display which makes use of a 1920 x 1080 resolution. This is probably the biggest difference between the two devices, as while the Redmi Note 3 does make use of the same 1920 x 1080 resolution, this one does come with a much larger 5.5-inch display. Inside, the Xiaomi Redmi 3 comes loaded with 2GB RAM and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-core processor, while the Redmi Note 3 comes loaded with a greater 3GB RAM and is powered by a MediaTek Helio X10 Octa-core processor. In terms of cameras, things are a lot more on par with both the Redmi 3 and Redmi Note 3 coming equipped with a 13-megapixel rear shooter, which is coupled with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Storage is a differentiating factor though, as the newly announced Redmi 3 comes loaded with 64GB internal storage while the Redmi Note 3 comes loaded with only 32GB internal storage. Both come sporting roughly the same sized battery, with 4000 mAh on offer with the Redmi Note 3 and 4,100 mAh on offer with the newer Redmi 3. Last but not least, both devices come running on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out of the box.
If you are interested in picking up the Xiaomi Redmi 3 then the device has not quite gone on sale yet. However, you can register your interest over at GearBest to be kept in the loop and be one of the first to know when the device does become available. In contrast, if you prefer the bigger size of the Redmi Note 3, then this is currently available to buy through GearBest for $209.89 and you can save an additional $10 by using coupon code 32GBNOTE3-01 for the Gray variant, use code 32GBNOTE3-02 for the Gold variant and use code 32GBNOTE3-03 for the Silver variant.
