Facebook's 'Mentions' App Is Now Available On Android

It is not exactly a secret Facebook is the largest social network in the world. The company has been around for a long time now, and the service has evolved quite a bit since it was created. Facebook also launched a number of side services over the years, some of which are still around, and some are not. The company has even launched a launcher for Android at one point, but it didn't stick. Along with that launcher, Facebook has also partnered up with HTC and launched an Android phone, but the whole project wasn't that successful.

That being said, Facebook currently has a ton of applications available in the Google Play Store. Aside from the main Facebook app, you'll also find Messenger, Facebook Like, Facebook Pages Manager, Facebook Groups, various additions for Messenger, etc. Well, the company has actually launched yet another separate app a while back, but it was available only on iOS, until now. The company has rolled out 'Mentions' app to Android now as well, and it's basically an application for celebrities and various verified Facebook users. The app is designed not only to share posts with people who are following you (in case you're famous basically), but also for live broadcasting. The app was originally launched back in July last year, and it took Facebook quite a bit to push it to Android. Users of this app can communicate with their followers, read trending stories, star conversation, share media, etc.

Facebook and Messenger are two most popular apps this company has released for Android, without a doubt. Facebook is widely used all over the world as a social network, and Messenger was the fastest growing app of last year, and a ton of people communicate through it. Facebook Mentions is a completely different type of app, and in case you're in that small percentage of celebrities this, or you simply have a verified account, you can click on the Google Play banner down below to try out this application. There are also quite a few of official screenshots included in the gallery down below, in case you'd like to take a look at those as well.
