Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday may be behind us, but the gift giving season is only beginning and seemingly, Verizon Wireless want in on the action. Just last month, the company had introduced the 'Give a Gig' promotion, whereby subscribers can gift a Gigabyte of data to somebody else on the same network. Now, the carrier is rolling out yet another promo, which would allow some of its qualifying new and existing customers to use 2 Gigabytes of extra LTE data per month, at no additional cost. Verizon has just announced this new program through a post on its official site, and although it includes some caveats, many a subscriber who have multiple lines on their Verizon accounts may well find this offer good enough to latch on to.
As mentioned already, the latest offer is not applicable to all Verizon subscribers. Only those on Verizon's newly introduced XL or XXL plans are eligible for the extra Gigs, but that too, only if they were to upgrade their old phone or add a new one to their existing account. New customers on the two aforementioned plans will be eligible as well, provided they buy a phone from Verizon instead of going the BYOD route. According to the carrier, "New and existing customers must upgrade or activate a new phone and be on the XL or the XXL Verizon Plan to receive the 2 GB of bonus data each month. Customers can add up to 10 lines per account. To receive the bonus data for life, customers must remain on the XL or XXL Verizon Plan and the line must remain active on a phone". Without the offer, the XL plan comes with 12 GB of data while the XXL option brings 18 GB. Both plans of course, come with unlimited talk and text.
The largest wireless carrier in the country has also let it be known that customers will be entitled to share their free data across all their devices, "including tablets and connected devices, although tablets and connected devices are not eligible to be upgraded or activated to receive the 2 GB of data each month". The offer meanwhile, is a time-limited one, and will be available thru January 6th, 2016.
