Samsung Gear VR Goes On Sale In The UK For £80

Virtual reality is certainly a market which looks to be taking off. Although the levels of adoption are still quite low, this is something which is likely to change significantly going forward and definitely when units become much more affordable and available. Samsung were one of the first to throw their virtual reality hat into the ring with their Innovator Edition Gear VR headset, although this was a pricey option for those looking to jump on the virtual reality train. However, Samsung were also one of the first to really make a proper and consumer version available and at an affordable price, thanks to their more recently released Consumer Edition Gear VR.

The latest Gear VR is one which became available to buy in the U.S. in the last few weeks and came with a nicely priced $99 price tag. Of course, the compatibility with the latest Gear VR is still reserved for a limited number of Samsung branded smartphones, but in terms of availability, the price alone should reflect more people getting involved with this new and evolving industry. Not to mention, as the device becomes available in more regions going forward, it is also likely to see a greater level of adoption too.

If you are in the UK and had been waiting for the Gear VR to reach your shores, then it does now look like the moment has arrived. Samsung is now directly selling the Gear VR consumer edition through their UK website and comes with a firm £80 price tag. This does mean that the price in the UK is a little bit more expensive than in the U.S. with a direct conversion coming in around the $120 marker. Although, when you factor in the tax and so on, the difference is rather minimal. As such, if you are in the UK and are thinking about picking up a Gear VR for yourself or as a Christmas present for someone, then now you can. Head through the source link below to head over to the UK Samsung product listing where you can find out more about the Gear VR or place an order.
