New Games & Content Comes To Samsung's Gear VR Headset

Samsung's Gear VR headset didn't launch with that much content, and while there is arguably still not that much available compared to other platforms like Android, the content library is growing and that includes all forms of media including movies and games. Recently it seems like more developers have been dumping their offerings into the Oculus Store where users can download apps and games for the Gear VR onto their smartphone for use with the headset, and as of today it appears a handful of new games have been added to the ever-growing list of things users can get their hands on.

Not all of the games or apps will be available to download and play or use in the U.S., with some having a limited reach that doesn't go beyond Samsung's home region of Korea as well as Japan. This includes three Everland titles that are all Korea exclusive, known as Everland T-Express, Everland Safari World, and Everland Amazon Express, all of which are also free titles for download and more like VR 3D worlds you can explore than games you can actually play. NicoNicoVR is a Japan exclusive title which is also free to download and isn't a game, but rather a VR social networking service.

The rest of the content is available anywhere the Gear VR is available and includes Archer E Bowman and Cityscape Repairman, games which are free and $2.99 respectively. There is also an app called THETA S VR which is basically a way to take remote pictures using the Richo THETA S 360 degree camera. There's also 'The Box' which lets users deliver virtual gifts to each other and a game called Unity-Chan Candy Rock Star Live Stage! which is essentially a VR singing game. THETA S VR, Unity-Chan, and The Box are all free downloads as well, making all but Cityscape Repairman a cost-free experience, which opens up even more content to Gear VR owners without having to shell out any extra cash. This may not seem like much as there is always free apps on the play Store, but with Gear VR and virtual reality platforms in general being relatively new, having as much free content as possible is a good way to get people interested.
