The holiday shopping season is on in full force, and while most people are done with their lists for this year, last minute shoppers are sure getting some nice deals coming their way this Christmas. While most companies across industry segments are rolling out deals, discounts and bargains to woo consumers, smartphone manufacturers are getting in on the act as well, making this as good a time as any to splurge on a brand new handset. Motorola now seems to be latest company to be slashing its prices, at least in India, seeing as most of the company’s handsets are being discounted by anything between Rs. 1,000 ($15) to Rs. 3,000 ($45) in the country. Motorola phones are sold in India exclusively through online retailer Flipkart, and the discounts reportedly will be available only to those accessing the portal through the official Flipkart app.
The discounts are being offered from December 21st thru 23rd, so those wanting to get their hands on a shiny new Motorola smartphone at reduced prices need to act on or before Wednesday at the latest. While the heaviest discount, as expected, is in store for the priciest device of the lot, even cheaper, entry-level devices are coming with reduced price-tags, making them that much more attractive for would-be smartphone buyers. What’s more, there’s also an additional 10 percent cashback offer for those paying via Citibank or Standard Chartered cards. There’s also an additional discount offer on the recently-introduced Moto G Turbo Edition smartphone, whereby buyers of the device will get an additional Rs. 1,000 ($15) gift voucher. There’s also exchange offers in place on most of the handsets, which could further reduce prices by up to Rs. 12,000 ($180).
Coming to the exact prices post-discount (without the exchange offers), the Moto X Style (16 GB model) which normally sports a price-tag of Rs. 29,999 ($450), will now be available at Rs. 26,999 ($405) for these three days. The Moto X Play gets a Rs. 2,000 ($30) rebate for the 16 GB version, and will now retail at Rs. 16,499 ($250) temporarily instead of Rs. 18,499 ($280). The Moto G (3rd Gen) is also seeing a price cut, as it will now cost only Rs. 10,499 ($160) instead of Rs. 11,999 ($180), which is what the device costs without the discount. As mentioned already, this is only a time-limited offer, so you’ll have to act quickly if you want in.
