LG is one of the most respected smartphone manufacturers out there. This Korea-based company has basically released two flagship handsets this year, the LG G4 and the LG V10. The G4 is their annual flagship, and a direct successor to the extremely successful G3, but the V10 is something completely new. This phablet sports a secondary 'ticker' display above the regular panel, while it also offers premium build and quite a nice set of specs. That being said, LG is expected to release the LG G5 in March or April, and a ton of new info has surfaced, so let's see what's it all about.
This info comes from a Reddit user called 'mobile_leaks', and as I've mentioned in the previous paragraph, there are quite a few details shown here along with the alleged photo of the phone's dual camera setup and rear-facing physical buttons. Now, keep in mind that the provided image is actually protected by some sort of a black sheet to protect the design of the device, even though the cutouts are here. This handset will be made out of metal, quite probably aluminum, and the device will allegedly sport a non-removable battery. The leaker says that the phone will sport a microSD expansion though, which is a good thing. Now, as far as specs are concerned, the source says that the phone will sport a 5.3-inch display, which is completely different than what previous leaks have been reporting (5.5 or 5.7-inch). Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core SoC will reportedly fuel this handset, and 3GB of RAM will be included on the inside. As you can see in the provided image, the device will sport two camera sensors, which are allegedly 16 and 8-megapixel snapper, and the Laser Autofocus will make a comeback once again. The color spectrum sensor will be included here as well, at least according to the available info, and same can be said about a heart rate sensor. The 8-megapixel snapper will be available up front as well, and the fingerprint scanner will be included in the rear-facing power / lock button. The leaker does mention that a pressure sensor will be included here, as well as a USB-C port, rear-facing speaker and an IR blaster which will be located above the display.
This leak does contain quite a bit of details, but we wonder if they're accurate. Either way, this is the most detailed G5 leak we've seen thus far, and as the release date is getting closer, we'll see more and more of such leaks, stay tuned.
