Lava Unveils Iris X10 With 3GB Of RAM And An HD Display

Lava is, as you probably already know, one of the largest India-based smartphone manufacturers. This company has released quite a few smartphones this year, and another one of their products have popped up online a couple of days ago, the Lava Iris X10. The listing revealed a really solid mid-range spec sheet for this handset, and it was just a matter of time before Lava announces this phone. Well, that has just happened, let's see what it has to offer, shall we.

The Lava Iris X10 features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display with Corning's Gorilla Glass 3 on top of it. The device is powered by a quad-core SoC clocked at 1.3GHz, and a 2,900mAh battery is also a part of this package. The phone packs in 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. The 13-megapixel shooter is located on the back of this device (f/2.0 aperture, dual-LED flash), and a 5-megapixel snapper (84-degree wide-angle lens) can be found up front. This device offers dual-SIM and 4G LTE connectivity, and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Lava's additions on top of Google's OS. Lava said that Andriod 6.0 Marshmallow is right around the corner, so you can expect it to get the update in the coming weeks.

As far as the design is concerned, the Iris X10 is, as you can see, a very sleek-looking phone. The device sports a metallic trim all round, and its speaker is located in the lower part of the phone's back. Both its power / lock and volume rocker keys are located on the right side, and Lava's branding is also present here, but it's quite subtle, which is a good thing. Now, the Lava Iris X10 comes in Icy White (pictured in the images) and Royal Black color options. The device actually costs Rs. 11,500, and will be available through retail stores, multi-brand outlets and e-commerce portals all over India. We still don't know when will this device be available for purchase, but it is possible that will happen really soon, so if you're interested in getting one for yourself and you live in India, keep an eye on retailers which sell Lava's products.
