Holiday Tech Gift Ideas 2015-2016: Smartwatches

Smartwatches are the newest space in the tech world. With just about everyone having their own smartwatch available now, from Huawei to LG to Motorola and everyone in between. Smartwatches definitely make a great gift this holiday season, and we have three great smartwatches here that will make anyone on your list ecstatic to get one this holiday season.

Huawei Watch

The Huawei Watch is Huawei's first smartwatch, and it's a beauty. It's a round smartwatch, available in various colors and styles. It's a bit big, so might be too big for some women wrists, but it has a fantastic display and runs on Android Wear. It'll work with Android 4.3 or later as well as iOS 8.2 or later. Although you'll get more functionality on Android than on iOS. Huawei also has a number of pre-installed watch faces for the Huawei Watch.

LG Watch Urbane

This is the first generation of the Urbane which was announced back at Mobile World Congress (as the second edition was recalled and won't be available in time for the holidays). The LG Watch Urbane is a great looking smartwatch, and is even available in 24k gold, although that will cost quite a bit more, obviously. The LG Watch Urbane is available in silver as well as pink gold (while everyone else calls it rose gold). Much like the Huawei Watch, it also works with Android 4.3 and higher as well as iOS 8.2 and higher.

ASUS Zenwatch 2

ASUS is back with their second smartwatch and the Zenwatch 2 is actually the only smartwatch under $200. It's also the only smartwatch still rocking a square display. Which for some isn't  a big deal. ASUS offers the Zenwatch in two sizes, one with a 1.45-inch display and the other with a 1.63-inch display. So you can take your pick. And obviously the smaller one is a bit cheaper. The Zenwatch 2 does have a number of choices for bands, but you can also swap those out with any standard watch band, like many of the others on this list. There is also built-in WiFi, thanks to the latest Android Wear update, so you can go for a run and leave your smartphone at home.
