Holiday Tech Gift Ideas 2015-2016: Memory Cards

Memory cards are something that's both relatively cheap, and something that just about everyone needs. Memory cards or SD cards are used in a variety of devices. Including smartphones, tablets, cameras, and so much more. Picking up a memory card would definitely be a great gift for anyone on your list, especially a photographer. As photographers can never have enough SD cards. Memory cards come in two forms, usually. There is a micro SD card and a regular sized SD card. The good thing about a micro SD card is that it fits smartphones and tablets, and normally come with an adapter to work in cameras and video recorders. We've got 3 SD cards here that would make the perfect gift this holiday season.

Sandisk Extreme Pro 128GB

The Sandisk Extreme Pro is a great choice, as it boasts write speeds of up to 95MB/s, great for recording video, even 4K video. And with it having a capacity of 128GB, it means that you can store thousands of pictures and tons of hours of video on the card before running out of space. It will work in just about every camera, but won't work in smartphones and tablets, as those need microSD cards.

Samsung EVO Class 10 64GB Micro SDXC

Samsung has a line of microSD and regular sized SD cards under the "EVO" name. And this is their 64GB micro SDXC card that will work with most tablets and smartphones. It does also come with an adapter, so it can be used in devices that use normal sized SD cards like a camera. This card boasts a 48MB/s write speed, not as fast as the Sandisk one above, however it is still fast enough to record video on your smartphone.

Sandisk Ultra 200GB Micro SD Card

Sandisk has another entry on this list, and it's their 200GB micro SD card which debuted earlier this year. In case the 32GB of storage on your smartphone isn't enough, you can pick up one of these and have plenty of storage for pictures, movies, music and much more. Sandisk has a 90MB/s write speed on this particular SD card, which is plenty for recording 4K video on your smartphone and then some.
