Gionee Marathon M5 Lite Announced With A 4,000mAh Battery

Gionee has released two very interesting devices earlier this year, the Elife E8 and Marathon M5. These two handsets have been announced at the same time, and are quite different. The former is the company's new flagship phablet, and the latter one is their mid-ranger with a huge battery on the inside. The Marathon M5 actually sports two 3,010mAh batteries, which means you get a 6,020mAh battery in this handset. Taking into consideration its other specs, the Marathon M5 can hold a charge for quite a while. Anyhow, Gionee has started teasing the arrival of another Marathon-branded smartphone recently, the Marathon M5 Plus. That device will be announced on December 21st, and until that happens, Gionee has surprised us all and unveiled yet another Marathon handset, read on.

The company has decided to release the Marathon M5 Lite, a device which comes with entry-level specs, and a 4,000mAh battery on the inside, which is still quite a big battery. The Marathon M5 Lite sports a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display, 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB). This handset is fueled by MediaTek's MT6735 64-bit quad-core processor running at 1.3GHz, and offers 4G LTE and dual-SIM support. The 8-megapixel shooter is located on both the front and back side of the Marathon M5 Lite, and Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Gionee's Amigo UI 3.0 which brings forth a number of software features here. Now, despite a rather large battery, the Marathon M5 Lite isn't all that thick, it measures 8.5mm in terms of thickness.

The Gionee Marathon M5 Lite will be available in China, at least initially, the company did not share any further details as far as availability goes, but it is to be expected this phone will become available in India soon as well. What about its price? Well, the Marathon M5 Lite will set you back $154 in China, and if you're looking for an affordable handset which can hold a charge for quite a long time, this is one of the few such devices available now. There you have it, stay tuned for more Marathon M5 Plus info, the device will arrive soon.
