YU, an India-based smartphone manufacturer, has released four devices thus far, the Yureka, Yuphoria, Yureka Plus and Yunique. All of these devices can be considered either entry-level or mid-range, and it was just a matter of time before we see a high-end YU-branded smartphone. Speaking of which, the company has started teasing the Yutopia handset a while back, and we've seen quite a few leaks of this device (its specs that is). The company's CEO has confirmed that Yutopia is on the way, though we didn't know when will that happen, until now that is.
The company has started sending out invitations for their December 7th event where they will unveil the YU Yutopia handset. This will be the company's flagship offering, the first high-end device by this company. The YU Yutopia will reportedly ship in two (RAM) variants, 3 and 4GB models. This smartphone will sport a 5.2-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display, 3/4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The device will allegedly going to be fueled by the Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor along with an Adreno 430 GPU for graphics. The 21-megapixel shooter will be located on the back of this phone, and an 8-megapixel snapper will be placed up front. Android 5.1 Lollipop will come pre-installed on this smartphone, and Cyanogen OS will almost certainly going to be installed on top of it. 4G LTE connectivity will also be a part of this package, and YU has confirmed that the device will offer great battery life and fast charging capabilities.
That being said, we still don't know what will this handset look like. The Yutopia will quite probably going to be made out of metal, at least partially. The launch event will take place in a week, and it is possible that we'll see some leaked material before that happens. Either way, we'll do our best to keep you informed, we'll report back as soon as something pops up, so stay tuned.
