Anker Intros Quick Charge 3.0 Wall & Car Chargers

A few months ago, Qualcomm took the wraps off of Quick Charge 3.0. Which is the third iteration of Quick Charge. Quick Charge was announced two years ago, and was a way for users to charge their smartphones even faster. It started out at around 40% faster, and now with Quick Charge 2.0 it jumped to about twice as fast as conventional charging. Now with Quick Charge 3.0 it's even faster. A few manufacturers have already announced their own Quick Charge 3.0 chargers, and now Anker joins that small group.

On Tuesday, Anker took the wraps off of a new wall charger and car charger that both sport Quick Charge 3.0 and are certified by Qualcomm. We have the Anker PowerPort+ 1, which is a single USB port wall charger capable of charging your smartphone up to four times as fast as conventional charging. We also have the Anker PowerDrive+ 1, which is a car charger that is also able to charge your smartphone up to four times as fast. Both of which are available on Amazon right now. These two chargers, like Quick Charge 2.0 chargers, can also charge non-Quick Charge 3.0 devices without damaging them. Like the Nexus 6P or the LG V10. Currently, the only smartphone with Quick Charge 3.0 that is available is the HTC One A9. Charging the One A9 from 0-80% takes about 35 minutes with Quick Charge 3.0, a huge improvement over previous versions and even conventional charging.

Quick Charge 3.0 will be supported in devices using the Snapdragon 430, Snapdragon 617, Snapdragon 618, Snapdragon 620 and the Snapdragon 820. And where Qualcomm has already stated that there are around 70 devices in the pipeline with the Snapdragon 820 in tow, there will be plenty of options for Quick Charge 3.0. As well as plenty of options for chargers that support Quick Charge 3.0. We are likely going to see plenty more offerings available in the next few months when it comes to Quick Charge 3.0.

Anker's chargers are some of the best in the business. We've had the opportunity to review a number of their products, and they have always been high quality. We will also be reviewing these as soon as they are available, and pitting them against other Quick Charge 3.0 products.
