Samsung Galaxy View Tablet To Hit AT&T On November 20th

Samsung had recently announced the Galaxy View tablet with a large 18.4-inch display, as a device aimed towards media-consumption for the most part, with video-streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, YouTube and the like gaining in popularity with every passing year. AT&T has now become the first wireless carrier in the US to announce that it would make the device available for purchase Friday, November 20 onwards. According to the carrier, the device will be available at AT&T stores across the US, and also online, on the carrier's official website. The Galaxy View of course, is the largest mainstream, consumer-centric tablet from any major Android OEM thus far, and was unveiled by Samsung last month.

As per AT&T's latest announcement, the Samsung Galaxy View tablet will be offered by the carrier at a down payment of only $99.99 as a limited time promotional offer for all new DirectTV customers. The offer however, is valid only for people who sign up for new two-year contracts with both the wireless carrier as well as the El Segundo, California-based DTH service provider. Existing DirecTV subscribers meanwhile, can also get the reduced price, but they'll have to buy a new smartphone and activate a new connection on AT&T Next to be eligible for the same. The device will also be available at the regular price of $499.99 with a two-year contract for those not wanting to sign-up with DirecTV. 'Well-qualified customers' can also get the device for zero down, along with a repayment plan of $30 per month for a period of 20 months. The tablet can also be added to "a new or existing Mobile Share Value Plan", by AT&T subscribers, but will incur an access charge of $10 per month.

Announcing the launch of the Galaxy View on its network, AT&T Mobility's senior vice president of Device Marketing and Developer Services, Mr. Jeff Bradley, said, "The Samsung Galaxy View is the best parts of a TV and tablet, designed with entertainment as its primary focus. We know our customers are watching video in ways they never used to, and with this tablet you can shift where and when content is consumed. No other Samsung device provides this combination of integrated entertainment experience and value".
