Earlier this year, Nest announced the Nest Cam which is their first camera after buying DropCam back in June of 2014. The Nest Cam is a great product that can be used to make sure your home is safe when you're not home or even when you are home, it's more of a surveillance system without having to pay for one each month. The Nest Cam can be used outside as well as inside, so you could put one on your porch and see who's at the door without going to the door. With the Nest Cam, you get 24/7 live streaming in full HD to your smartphone, of course you don't have to watch it 24 hours a day on your phone, but it's there. Additionally, you can control the Nest Cam from virtually anywhere in the world. Nest Cam can also be set up to send notifications when there is motion or sound going on in your house or outside your house. This way you are on top of whatever is going on before it happens.
With the Nest Cam, you also have the ability to use Nest Aware and their Video History subscription. So you can watch video from the Nest Cam anytime, as it is stored in the cloud. It uses Nest Cam's powerful cloud algorithms to do this. The Video History Subscription can record for up to 10 days or 30 days, and that's 24/7 monitoring as well. With Nest Aware, there is also the ability to create Activity Zones, which would be around the areas that you want to keep a closer eye on. Finally, you can also make and download clips from the video history subscription service. This subscription will cost you $100/year for the 10-day option of $300/year for the 30 day option.
Nest is going to be selling the Nest Cam as a bundle beginning this weekend (that's November 14th). So you'll be able to get a 3-pack of the Nest Cam for just $497. Now that's $100 off the price of buying three of these separately. Making for a pretty good price. It's available on Nest.com, Amazon, Best Buy and Home Depot.
