Black Friday and Cyber Monday are some of the biggest trial-by-fire days for just about any tech company. This is when the holiday season hype, for the most part, pays off. Surges in sales around the holidays, with these two days in particular being the focal point, can make or break a product or even an OEM's entire quarterly report. That said, HTC is not content to let this year's opportunity pass them by. They've taken the wraps off of a slew of their own deals, separate from resellers of their products, that you can get through HTC themselves and through participating retailers. The deals will each run in their own time frame, meaning anybody with their eye on a certain item will have to time their shopping accordingly.
For starters, HTC is, as always, trying to sway iPhone owners with the HTC One A9, allowing them to trade in an iPhone 6 or 6S, along with their jumbo Plus siblings, to obtain a waiver for the full purchase price of the A9. The narrow list of mainstream phones that qualify for smaller discounts include LG's G3 and G4, which will net you $100 off an A9, and the Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge, which will knock $200 off the price. Nothing was mentioned about the S6 Edge Plus, but it's safe to assume it probably qualifies. Trading in a smartphone for half its value to give the A9 a spin is asking a lot of consumers, but some may be bored enough with their current smartphones to take the gamble. This deal runs from Thursday, November 26th, all the way to Wednesday, December 2nd.
Other assorted discounts include 40 percent off all Nexus 9 models with a free Logitech keyboard for the first 500 buyers of the 32GB LTE model. This deal is only good for the 26th and 27th of November. From the 28th to the 29th, all accessories will be getting a 40 percent cut, but this deal doesn't count the RE Camera line as accessories; rather, those get their own discount days, with 60 percent being taken off from the 30th to December 2nd. The first 900 buyers will also score a free protection pack. Last on the list, HTC is chopping 40 percent off the price of the venerable HTC One M9 from the 30th to the 2nd, giving those on the fence about one of the infamous Snapdragon 810's earlier outings a chance to take it for a spin without breaking the bank.
