We’ve gone through a lot of different speakers in previous gift guides here at Android Headlines, and now we’re taking a look at speaker systems under $1,000. As you’d expect, at this sort of price, you get some of the best sounding speakers that are easy to get your hands on. With the majority of the better speakers in this price bracket being all-in-one and floor-standing speakers, these are some of the best options to fill a room competently.
DALI – ZENSOR 3 – Bookshelf Speaker
These Dali speakers are not only good-looking, but they produce a well-rounded sound that will do any sort of genre justice. They’re also one of the better-looking pairs on our list as well as being small, too. This are a good option for an understated HiFi setup as they really look nice on any side or stand.
Polk Audio Atrium Garden Speaker System
Now for something entirely different, this is a speaker system for the outdoor type, and it’s one that will make sure any garden or yard comes alive. What’s so great about these is that they come from a proper audio brand and they can be buried into the soil or hung from a gazebo or something similar.
BIC Acoustech PL-980L-PL-980R 3-way Floor Speakers
Back to something a little more traditional, these Acoustech speakers have six different drivers in each one, including a horn tweeter. With excellent sound reproduction and room filling sound, the only problem people might have with such units is how to drive them properly.
Klipsch RP-250S Reference Premiere Surround Speakers
Klipsch is a brand that does speakers and earphones right, but this pair is something of an oddity. This pair will fill a room with stereo sound thanks to its two faces on either side. Essentially each one of these speakers is two normal speakers in one, and they blast out sound in that direction to totally fill a room. A nice and simple option for larger rooms, these will get the job done.
House of Marley EM-DA001-RG One Foundation Speaker System
If there was ever a speaker that looked good before anything else, this would be it. The One Foundation from House of Marley is an excellent all-rounder, with 200W total output and a number of traditional inputs as well as Bluetooth. Of course, what we’re really ogling over here is the overall look of thing, a statement in and of itself, this House of Marley speaker has an awful lot going for it.
JBL L880 4-Way, High Performance 6-inch Dual Floorstanding Loudspeaker
Despite the fact that they don’t look all that nice, these are some of the best room-filling speakers around. With precise and detailed reproduction, these JBL floor standers will do all your favorite music justice, and they’d make for one hell of a gift as well.
Focal – Chorus 806V
A boutique audio brand, Focal is known in select audiophile circuits, but there’s one thing they all get right; sound. For balanced, rich and immersive stereo sound, these are an excellent bookshelf set to go with. They are a little on the pricey side, but they really look the part, too.
JBL L16 Three-Way Speaker System
The JBL L16 is one of the nicest-looking, best-sounding all-in-one systems out there. With 300 Watts total output, support for AirPlay, DLNA and Bluetooth as well as a DSP that bumps up lossy MP3s and other formats to get the most out of the original recording. An altogether complete solution, this is well worth considering.
Klipsch RF-82 II Reference Series Floorstanding Loudspeaker
Back with Klipsch and these are some of the more understated, simple-looking floor standing speakers that we have on offer in this list. They’ll certainly get the job done of course, but they’re also classy and good-looking enough for any sort of room setup.
MartinLogan Crescendo Wireless Speaker System
MartinLogan is a bespoke brand that those who know it will either love it or want to love it. These sort of pieces aren’t for everyone of course, but they’re often well worth the asking price. This is another fine example of speakers as art, and for those looking for both good sound and a statement this is a great way to go.
