Over the past couple of years, smartwatches have really come into their own, but for a lot of people the price hasn't been all that smart. Especially for those that aren't sure that they're going to get their money's worth out of such a device. Android Wear launched last summer, and with it came the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live, and while neither of them were that attractive, the Gear Live was definitely the better-looking of the pair. Samsung's first and only Android Wear watch is now on sale at eBay in the US for just $79.99.
This is a great deal for a smartwatch that, while not as good-looking as something as the Watch Urbane or Moto 360, runs the same software and has the same sort of specifications. Definitely digital in its look and feel, the Gear Live is still a great watch, as we found out in our review last summer. With continuous software updates as well as more apps and watch faces available, Android Wear has really come on leaps and bounds, and 80 bucks for a watch like this is a great deal. Perfect for those unsure of how much use they're going to get out of such a thing, or as a fairly low-cost electronics gift, the Gear Live is worth looking into. There are other, more attractive options out there as well, but none at this sort of price point.
