Cyber Monday Deal: NVIDIA SHIELD TV with Remote $149.99

Android TV was launched last summer, during Google I/O and while the Nexus Player from Google themselves was fairly underwhelming, NVIDIA have taken Android TV and ran with it. Is it a streaming box? Is it a games console? Blurring the lines, the NVIDIA SHIELD TV does everything, it plays 4K content no problem, it runs unfettered Android TV and you can play all the games you want with the included controller, including streaming PC games using GeForce NOW. Today, the NVIDIA SHIELD TV is on offer at Amazon with a Remote for just $149.99.

That price tag might seem a lot for a mere Android TV box, but when you consider how quick the SHIELD TV is and the graphical prowess it exhibits in the most demanding Android games, it quick seems like excellent value. The included remote here has a few buttons for simple couch operation as well as voice control and a headphone jack for private, wireless audio – just like the PlayStation 4. This is the 16GB SHIELD TV, which means that there's not much room for storing content on the box itself, but if you're a serial streamer (get it?) then you should have no trouble. Buying this model of the SHIELD TV and the Remote on their own would cost you $50 more from Amazon, so this bundle for $149.99 is a good deal.

Former Editor-in-Chief

For years now I've had a heavy interest in technology, growing up with 8-bit computers and gaming consoles has fed into an addiction to everything that beeps. Android saved me from the boredom of iOS years ago and I love watching the platform grow. As an avid reader and writer nothing pleases me more than to write about the exciting world of Android, Google and mobile technology as a whole.
