Samsung is the world's number one smartphone OEM at the moment, and aside from refreshing their existing series of devices, the company also tends to release rather odd, unconventional devices from time to time. They've innovated with the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Plus earlier this year, and the company has decided to release a rather odd tablet quite recently. You've probably already heard of the Galaxy View, a huge 18.4-inch tablet which Samsung released. Well, that device is now available for purchase in the US if you're interested, read on.
The Galaxy View can now be purchased directly from the company's website. Aside from that, you can also buy the tablet from various other stores, such as Best Buy, Amazon, B&H, Adorama and BrandsMart USA. The device costs $599.99 on all of these sites, in case you're interested in purchasing one. That being said, let's take a quick look at this tablet's specs, shall we. The Galaxy View sports an 18.4-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) TFT display along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card up to 128GB). The tablet is powered by the Exynos 7580 octa-core SoC clocked at 1.6GHz along with a Mali-T720 MP2 GPU for graphics. The 2.1-megapixel camera is available on the front side of this tablet, while you won't find a rear-facing shooter on here, this is a huge tablet after all. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Samsung's skin on top of it, and the tablet measures 451.8 x 275.8 x 11.9mm, while it weighs 2.65kg, so it's quite a massive tablet.
The Galaxy View is basically Samsung's way to try to innovate and perhaps re-invent the tablet market. As you probably already know, tablets aren't as popular as they used to be, shipments are way down. This is definitely and interesting move by Samsung, and it remains to be seen how many units will the be able to sell, but this tablet is definitely not for everyone. Either way, if you're interested, we'll leave an Amazon link for you below this article, but if you'd prefer purchasing the device from someone else, feel free to follow the source link down below which will take you to Samsung's official website.
