Qi Wireless charging has really started to take off recently. There is a company called Fonesalesman which has been making some pretty interesting Qi Wireless Chargers. Including a Bamboo puck, which I think looks stunning. We got hands on with these at IFA last month in Berlin. Fonesalesman also had something else to show us which was a side table that has Qi Wireless Charging built in, it's known as FurniQi, and it's an awesome idea. Similar to what Ikea is doing now with some of their furniture.
The FurniQi is a small side table that is made of Bamboo, and of course, has Qi Wireless charging built-in. Fonesalesman started their Indiegogo campaign today and it will last until November 12th. The company is hoping to get around $50,000 raised in that amount of time. At the time of writing this, the company had raised $876, in just two hours. So it looks like they are well on their way to meeting their goal.
There are a few different funding options available here. For $39, you can get the Personal Paw Puck. However, for $119, you will get the FurniQi side table with one charging spot. this is their early bird special and they are aiming for a Christmas 2015 delivery with this. For $139, you will get a FurniQi with one charging spot, however this is not the early bird special, so we're looking at March 2016 shipping. For $179, you will get the FurniQi table with two charging spots, again with a Marsh 2016 delivery. At $229, Fonesalesman is giving you a FurniQu table, with a bamboo WoodPuck, and a QiStone+ wireless charger. Also shipping in March of 2016. There are other options too, ranging all the way up to $1300. I suggest you check out Fonesalesman's Indiegogo page for more details, which will be linked in the sources section below.
It's a very exciting time for Qi Wireless charging, as we are seeing it coming into more and more devices. It's still rather unfortunate that the iPhone doesn't have it by default, but there are after-market solutions for that. With Ikea and now Fonesalesman getting into Qi Wireless charging furniture, it's going to be interesting to see what comes out in the next few months or even next year.
