America’s fourth largest wireless network, Sprint Corp. has today announced the further expansion of its smartphone delivery and personalization service, Direct 2 You, to a number of new locations around the country. In addition to the areas already covered by the service, Sprint will henceforth, be making Direct 2 You available to residents of Charlotte, NC; Cincinnati, OH; Las Vegas, NV; Nashville TN; New Orleans, LA; Pittsburgh, PA and Salt Lake City, UT. The service, which was launched in April this year in Kansas City, MO; Chicago, IL and Miami, FL; has since been expanded to a number of locations across the length and breadth of the country. It was back in June that Sprint had rolled out the Direct 2 You service to New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Denver. Following that, in August, the carrier made the service available for residents of a number of other major metropolitan areas in the country, including Minneapolis and St. Paul, MN; Orlando, FL; Phoenix, AZ; San Antonio, TX and Seattle, WA.
For the uninitiated, the Direct 2 You service is a free and personalized customer service program which entitles a Sprint customer to get a company representative to deliver a new smartphone to their home, set it up and help personalize the device according to their choice. The service is available free of charge to all Sprint customers, as well as for those who are currently with any other carrier, but want to switch over to Sprint. A request for an appointment with a company representative can be made either through a phone call to a number provided on Sprint’s website, or by registering through a site set up by the company specifically for the purpose. A Sprint ‘Direct 2 You expert’ will then arrive as per the scheduled appointment to a place of the customers’ choosing, and will provide all the necessary services including the setting-up of the new device, transfer of contacts and data from the old phone including photos, videos, music, games etc.
On the occasion of the expansion of the service to newer areas, Mr. Rod Millar, a vice president at Sprint, said, “We’re excited to see such positive customer reaction to Direct 2 You, and we plan to expand its reach into new communities. Our experts will meet you where you request – and people appreciate that, especially with the upcoming shopping season. You can specify at home, in the office or even at your child’s soccer game. We make sure that the experience of getting a new Sprint phone is easy, convenient and stress-free”. The company has also announced that it will be continuing on with its social media promotion, whereby all Direct 2 You customers will be entitled to a enter a sweepstakes to the tune of $250,000 by posting a picture of themselves on Twitter or Instagram with the Direct 2 You representative with hashtags #Direct2You and #Sweepstakes. The company also said that it hopes to further expand the availability of the Direct 2 You service next year.
