Samsung Quietly Unveils Galaxy On5 & On7 Smartphones

Samsung Galaxy On5 and On7 smartphones have been surfacing in bits and pieces for quite some time now. We've been getting more and more info for the last couple of weeks, and the two devices were briefly listed on Samsung India website as well. Earlier today, a number of official Galaxy On5 and On7 renders surfaced, which suggested that the two devices will be launched by the company soon. Well, we didn't expect them to pop up today, but they have, read on.

This Korea-based tech giant has quietly announced both of these phones by listing them on Samsung China's website. The site lists both of these devices, and basically confirms the specs that have leaked a couple of times thus far. The two devices are very similar in every aspect except size, battery size and camera sensors. The Galaxy On5 features a 5-inch 720p display, while the Galaxy On7 comes with a 5.5-inch display featuring that very same resolution. The two devices are powered by the Exynos 3475 quad-core SoC running at 1.3GHz, and both of them will ship with 1.5GB of RAM. Only 8GB of internal storage is included in these two phones, though you'll be able to expand upon that via a microSD card. The 13-megapixel rear-facing camera (f/2.1 aperture) is available on the back of the Galaxy On7, while the 8-megapixel rear-facing camera (f/2.1 aperture) comes on the back of its smaller sibling. The LED flash is available on both of these phones. The 5-megapixel front-facing shooter (f/2.2 aperture) is also a part of this package, and both of these phones are made out of metal.

The 3,000mAh battery comes on the inside of the Galaxy On7, while you'll find the 2,600mAh unit included in the Galaxy On5 package. Both of these phones offer 4G LTE connectivity, of course, and Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed on them with Samsung's TouchWiz UI on top of Google's operating system. The pricing is still not available for either of these phones, but if Samsung India's alleged listing is to be believed, the phones will cost around 950 Yuan ($150) and 1,270 Yuan ($200) in China.
