Oukitel U7 Pro Handset Will Pack In A Small Projector

We've talked about Oukitel quite a few times thus far. This China-based smartphone OEM has released a number of devices this year, phones like the U10 handset which we've reviewed a while ago. The company is planning to release a phone which packs in a 10,000mAh battery in the future, and according to the latest info, they're planning yet another rather interesting device. I don't know if you're familiar with the Oukitel U7 handset, but this is an entry-level Oukitel smartphone which has been announced a while back. The phone is available for purchase from a number of Chinese retailers for around $70.

Well, this device might not seem appealing to those of you who are not in a market for an entry-level device, but a new version of this phone which Oukitel plans to release soon might be far more interesting. According to the info our source at Oukitel has shared, the company plans to announce the 'Pro' version of this smartphone which will simply be called Oukitel U7 Pro. This variant of the device will pack in a projector, which is quite interesting. This is not the first time we're seeing something like this, but considering the fact this smartphone will be extremely expensive, the idea might be appealing to some of you.

The device will be capable of reproducing an image on your wall or pretty much any other solid surface in a resolution of 1280 x 720. The source has also mentioned that this will be a 50-lumen projector, so it remains to be seen how useful will it be in the end, but it does sound interesting at the very least. We're still not sure which specs will this phone sport, but it is possible that it will keep Oukitel U7's spec sheet with the addition of this projector up top, that's probably the reason they kept the naming of the phone intact basically.

So, if the phone keeps Oukitel U7's specs, that means that it will feature a 5.5-inch 960 x 540 IPS display, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable internal storage. The MediaTek MT6582 quad-core SoC running at 1.3GHz will be available on the inside, and a Mali-400 GPU will be included for graphics rendering. The 2,000mAh battery will probably also be a part of this package, and you'll also get 4G LTE connectivity. Keep in mind that these are Oukitel U7's specs, we're still not sure if they'll be identical in the Oukitel U7 Pro.
