Over the last few weeks and months, there has been much speculation surrounding the latest device from OnePlus, the OnePlus X. However that speculation has now come to an end as the company has formally announced the OnePlus X, along with confirming all of the specs and details surround the actual the device.
In terms of the specs, the OnePlus X comes with many of the specifications that had been rumored prior to its launch. These include the employing of a 5-inch display which makes use of a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. Inside, the OnePlus X comes equipped with 3GB RAM and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 Quad-core processor (clocking at 2.3 GHz), along with a Qualcomm Adreno 330 processing the graphics. In terms of cameras, the OnePlus X comes equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera, which is coupled with an 8-megapixel front facing camera. While in terms of storage, the OnePlus X offers 16GB Internal storage as standard and also offers the option to expand the storage, thanks to the inclusion of a microSD card slot (up to 128GB).
Additional features on offer include, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, dual-SIM, 2G, 3G and 4G LTE support. Lastly, the OnePlus X comes powered by a 2,525 mAh battery and comes running on Android 5.1.1, with the OnePlus operating system, OxygenOS over the top. Beyond the initial specs, OnePlus has also confirmed that the OnePlus X is designed to be a premium looking device and comes with a premium build. The OnePlus X will be available in two different colors, namely, Onyx Black and a Limited Edition Ceramic variant. The build quality, along with the size of the device, makes the OnePlus X the lightest OnePlus device to date, with a total weight of only 4.86 ounces.
In terms of availability, OnePlus has now confirmed that the OnePlus X will be available directly from the OnePlus website and will again make use of an invite system. However, OnePlus confirm that the invite system will eventually be phased out in time with open sales taking place on a weekly basis. The OnePlus X will first be available in Europe starting November 5 and will be priced at â‚¬269. Following which, the OnePlus X will be available in the U.S. from November 19th and priced at $249. These prices and dates do refer to the Onyx version. The ceramic version is a Limited Edition item and will require a separate and specific ‘Ceramic invite’. Only 10,000 of these will be on offer and they will begin their availability starting from November 24th in Europe and India and priced at â‚¬369.
