Letv has managed to surprise a lot of people when the company released their first three handsets back in April this year. Letv is a well-known company in China, but they haven't been a part of the smartphone industry before they announced the three aforementioned devices. The company's device are dubbed 'Le Superphones', and all three of these phones are sporting really compelling specs and somewhat recognizable design. The Le 1, Le 1 Pro and Le Max have been around for quite some time, though their availability is still somewhat limited. Letv intends to change that considering that the company will enter the US smartphone market before the end of the year.
That being said, Letv has teased the arrival of their Snapdragon 820-powered handset back in August, and we've seen a number of leaks saying that the company is planning to release the Letv Le Max 2 soon, and that the device will be powered by the aforementioned Snapdragon chip. Well, the company has already announced that they'll hold an event on October 27th, and their teaser contained a big number '2' on it, which also suggests to a second-gen smartphone. If that's not enough for you to think that a Snapdragon 820-powered Letv smartphone is coming, then the next piece of info quite probably will be. Letv HK has re-shared the Snapdragon 820 teaser Letv published back in August, which definitely hypes up the October 27th event. This is not all the news we have for you today as far as Letv goes. The company's CEO, Jia Yueting, has more or less confirmed that the upcoming device will ship with a 2K display, though that was to be expected.
Now, this seems a bit weird considering the fact Snapdragon 820 SoC won't be available to OEMs before Q1 2016. It is possible that Letv plans to announce this phone (or phones perhaps) on October 27th and release it in January, or something to that effect. Anyhow, the Letv Le Max 2 is said to sport a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display along with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 SoC will fuel this phablet, and a 21-megapixel shooter has also been mentioned a number of times thus far. The Letv Le Max 2 will quite probably be made out of metal, much like its predecessor. Stay tuned for more info, we'll quite probably see more leaks before October 27th.
