Samsung has released a number of devices this year, including the company's flagship devices and phablets. Well, the time has come for the company to showcase some of its more affordable, lower-end offerings. Samsung has recently announced their Galaxy On5 and On7 smartphones in China, and the second-gen Galaxy A3 and A5 devices have popped up on GFXBench recently as well. As we're waiting for the company to unveil the latter two devices, let's talk more about the Galaxy On5, shall we.
The Galaxy On5 was listed on Flipkart by accident, at least according to the tipster which has managed to take a screenshot of the listing. The Galaxy On5, and probably On7, will be sold via Flipkart in India soon it seems. Both of these devices were actually listed on Samsung India briefly as well, though that listed was taken down almost immediately. These two phone are already available for pre-order in China directly from Samsung, and are priced at 998 Yuan ($157) and 1,398 Yuan ($220), respectively. We still don't know when will the Galaxy On5 become available in China, but judging by the listing, very soon.
The Galaxy On5 sports a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display along with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable internal storage. The device is powered by the Exynos 3475 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, and a 2,600mAh battery is available on the inside. The 13-megapixel snapper (f/2.1 aperture) can be found on the back of the Galaxy On5, while there's a 5-megapixel shooter (f/2.2 aperture) available up front. The device is made out of metal, and does offer 4G LTE connectivity, of course. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed on this phone with Samsung's TouchWiz UI available on top of Google's OS.
It is also worth mentioning that Galaxy On5 and On7 are quite similar, the On7 is bigger as it sports a bigger 5.5-inch display, and a bigger 3,000mAh battery on the inside. Aside from that, these two phones are identical. All we can do at this point is wait for Flipkart to officially list the Galaxy On5, and quite possibly the On7 as well. We still don't know how much the device will cost, but as soon as we find out, we'll let you know.
