The Nexus news has been coming in thick and fast this morning and as such, we are learning lots more about what is on offer with the Nexus devices as well as Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) in general. For instance, earlier reports came through about the ability to power other Type-C enabled devices from either of the two Nexus devices. We also very recently learned that Doze, the battery saving feature on Marshmallow, is one which is not permitted by Google to be modified. Although, this sounds strange for an Android element, it does seem to be a way to ensure that everyone receives the same benefit of the feature in its natural state. Sort of a core element of Android, which needs to be remained 'as is' to pass through Google's certification process.
Well, aspects like this will become more known the more the Android community gets to play with Marshmallow and now that the Nexus 6X is announced as shipping, this will likely increase as time goes on and the devices reach both the public and developer's hands. Well, for those who have ordered a Nexus 5X (or for those just interested) it now seems that Google has posted the factory images for Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) for the Nexus 5X.
In total (and so far), three factory images for the Nexus 5X (bullhead) have gone live. These come in the form of MDA89E, MDA89F and MBD08I. All three are now available to download and can be downloaded through the link below. Of course, if you are running any of the other Nexus devices, then the links for your Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) factory images all went live a couple of weeks ago when Google introduced the two latest Nexus devices. It would be expected that Google would hold off until the Nexus 5X did begin to ship before releasing the factory images and it is good to see Google are not wasting any time on the matter. If you want to grab a copy of the factory image while you wait on the shipment of your Nexus 5X to arrive, then you can through the link below.
