Elephone is not exactly one of the best known Chinese smartphone manufacturers, but this company has been mentioned quite often by the tech media lately. Elephone has been manufacturing low and mid-range devices for a long time and many of those devices were made out of metal. The company has decided to enter the premium space as well, earlier this year actually, when they released the P7000 smartphone, which was then followed by the P8000. The company also plans to release three P9000 models, and the Elephone Vowney we’ve talked about quite a few times now.
The company has already released all the necessary info as far as the ‘Vowney’ phone goes, and an official promo video has been shared by Elephone now as well. If you take a look at the embedded video below this article, you’ll get to see this device shown off by the company, and a number of its features showcased. The Vowney will be Elephone’s flagship, along with one of the P9000 variants quite probably. The device will be released on October 25th, and the phone will actually ship in 3 (Vowney Lite) and 4GB (Vowney) variants it seems. Its pricing is said to start at $299, and we might as well take a look at its specifications.
The Elephone Vowney will sport a 5.5-inch 1080p or QHD display (depending on which variant your purchase) along with 3/4GB of RAM and 16/32GB of expandable internal storage. The device will be powered by MediaTek’s Helio X10 (MT6795) 64-bit octa-core SoC, and a 4,000mAh battery will also be a part of this package. The 21-megapixel snapper (Sony’s IMX230 sensor) will be available on the back of this device, and an 8-megapixel shooter will be located up front. The device will offer support for 4G LTE connectivity, and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will come pre-installed on this phone. The fingerprint scanner will be available below the rear-facing camera, and the device will be made out of metal. It is also worth mentioning that the device is still available for pre-order, in case you’d like to grab one right away. That’s pretty much it, stay tuned for additional info.
