It has been busy week for announcements. At the start of the week Google introduced its latest Nexus smartphones, one of which was made by LG. Now today, LG has introduced another new smartphone known as the LG V10. In fact, the V10 was officially announced last night, but today saw its more traditional launch event take place. Part of which was the confirmation that the V10 would be coming to AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile.
Interestingly, LG also took the same event (and last night's pre-announcing) to also introduce their new smartwatch which is a refreshed LG Watch Urbane. The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition comes with a few notable hardware improvements, although, the big selling point is certainly that it is a standalone device and offers its own cellular connection. Effectively, making it the first Android Wear device to do so. However, for the Watch Urbane 2, this was only a preview with no information coming through about availability or pricing. Although, some limited information was provided in last night's pre-announcement regarding the Watch Urbane 2 roll out plans.
Well, AT&T has now came out and released a statement confirming that they will be carrying the LG V10 on their network. As part of the statement, LG has also made it clear that they will be carrying the Watch Urbane 2 as well. Making AT&T the first carrier to officially announce they will be offering the smartwatch on their network. Unfortunately though, the announcement was rather short and sweet and the carrier did not provide any information on the pricing of the Watch Urbane 2, which still remains a mystery.
In terms of the specs. the Watch Urbane 2 comes equipped with a 1.38-inch P-OLED display and sports a 480 x 480 resolution. Inside, we are looking at 768 MB RAM, 4GB internal storage and the smartwatch is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor (clocking at 1.2 GHz). Other notable features include a 570 mAh battery, IP67 water and dust resistance rating and your typical smartwatch sensors. The LG Watch Urbane will be available in Space Black, Opal Blue, Luxe White and Signature Brown color options, although, once again, AT&T has not confirmed if they will be carrying all the options available.
