It is Monday and it is October 5th and that can only mean one thing! Google stated they would begin the availability of the next version of Android, Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) today and that is exactly what they did. The factory images went live a short while ago this morning and now anyone with any of the supported Nexus devices can download and install Marshmallow on their devices.
While there is a ton of new features set to arrive with Marshmallow, the update is unlikely to be one which is as prominent as that which was received with Android 5.0 (Lollipop). That said, there will be a number of things and new features to get to grips with. However, what many users will be more initially interested in is what is the new Easter Egg like? Well, it seems Google was well aware of this being one of the more anticipated feature for today. As well as releasing the Nexus factory images, known Googlers, Nat & Jo, released their latest video this morning and it was all about the Easter Eggs on Android. In fact, it did showcase a number of the previous generational Android Easter eggs as well as provide a bit of background on how the Easter Eggs are made. In short, a sort of history of Android Easter Eggs.
Well, if you were wondering what the latest Easter egg was like on Marshmallow then now it has become clear. Like Lollipop, Marshmallow brings with it the same Flappy Bird game buried deep within the settings. Albeit with a couple of fundamental changes. The first is that the lollipops have now been replaced with, well, marshmallows. The second and possibly more interesting is that it now seems there is a multi player mode where more than one user can control their own Android. If you are downloading the latest version and do want to get your hands on the latest Easter Egg, then you should by now know what to do. Head to Settings, to About Phone, head to the Android Version and tap continuously until the screen changes and shows the big Marshmallow M. At which point, hold down on the M until the game starts.
