Watch Faces For Smartwatch 3 Updated With New Options

Android Wear still lacks the level of customization that you can find on Android, but that's changing a little bit as more and more app developers and OEM's are coming up with ways to personalize your smartwatch. Sony introduced their answer with the Watch Faces for Smartwatch 3 app they introduced at the end of last month, and while it doesn't have limitless customization capabilities there are some nice options for Smatwatch 3 owners in there which make the experience a little better. Among the different watch face options, you'll also find some widgets that can be added to the watch face, and various custom backdrop colors.

As of just recently Sony has thrown out an update to the Watch Faces for Smartwacth 3 app which unsurprisingly adds more watch face options to the mix, giving users even more choices than before. There are now two new watch face types for users to look out for, which includes Active and Abstract. Abstract gives you a selection from five different colors of yellow, blue, green, purple, and grey with an abstract design, while Active is similar to the "Classic" setup which has been included since the app launched, although it has one different background style called "carbon" alongside the same light and dark background color option.

In addition to adding in two new categories for watch face styles which now makes for five options, Sony has added in some new widget options too, four to be exact. Those who like adding widgets to their watch face will be able to now also choose from a world clock, a compass, digital times, and a new calendar widget option. The compass in particular should come in handy if you often use the watch while being active and are worried about losing your sense of direction. Users should also notice that time can be displayed in a 12 hour format after this update as well, so for those who are more familiar with reading and telling time based on this format, you'll have the option when using the Digital watch faces. This app is free, and if you're a Smartwatch 3 users this one app you should have installed on your device.
