Teased at Unpacked in August, and then officially announced this past Monday, the Gear S2 has been on the hype train for a few weeks, with it's final destination in Berlin, Germany at IFA. Last night, Samsung had a press conference just for the Gear S2. Where they showed off the new smartwatch, as well as the Gear S2 Classic. Both of which will be available globally in October. Currently, only T-Mobile has announced that they will be carrying the new smartwatch. The Gear S2 does run on Tizen, which is Samsung's proprietary OS that they have used for previous Gear smartwatches, however unlike previous smartwatches from Samsung. The Gear S2 works with any Android smartphone running Android 4.4 and up. Previously, it was exclusive to Galaxy devices.
Join us as a Samsung rep walks us through the Gear S2. Now this is the regular Gear S2 which does have interchangeable bands. So if you don't like the orange band you see there, you can easily grab a new one and slap it on. Take a look at the video below, it's a really cool smartwatch to say the least. I'm a big fan of that rotating bezel, honestly.
