If you remember, back in June a company by the name of Vector showed off two unannounced smartwatches. This took place at an event called Baseworld where different watchmakers from all around the globe come to show the world their latest creations. The reason Vector stood out was because they didn't have an everyday watch, they had smartwatches, smartwatches with some great features that set them apart from other smartwatches on the market.
The main two features that really set the Vector smartwatches apart from others go hand in hand. The Vector smartwatches contain a different type of display than any other smartwatch currently on the market called a memory LCD display. This type of display allows the Vector smartwatches to last up to a surprising 30 days on a single charge. This is due to memory LCDs only needing to update the portion of the image that changes at any given time as opposed to updating the entire image every time that a portion of it needs updating.
Vector smartwatches will also run Vectors own custom OS that will offer much of the same capabilities of Google's Android Wear and Apple's watchOS. A great benefit of this is that the Vector smartwatches are compatible with Android, iOS, and Windows Phone devices. On all three of these platforms, the Vector Smartwatch will be able to do things such as receive text messages and emails as well as many other different types of notifications.
Today, Vector has actually made their new line of smartwatches available to purchase. If you head over to Vector's website you will see that their smartwatch line consists of 12 devices, each one differing slightly from the others. They also come in two different display shapes, the usual square and round, and they are priced from about $249 to $399.
Currently, customers can purchase 10 of the 12 different Vector smartwatches that there are to choose from. Two of the rounded display, more expensive models say that they will be available in October, which is just around the corner. If you order one now the site says that they will ship by the 30th of this month.
