UMi has released a couple of interesting smartphones this year, including the UMi eMax and UMi Iron which we've reviewed recently. The company's eMax Mini and Hammers S devices will launch soon, and same can be said about UMi Fair, a device we talked about recently. UMi has already revealed that the UMi Fair handset will cost only $99, and that it will sport a fingerprint scanner. Well, our source at the company has sent us the spec sheet of the UMi Fair, so let's see what this smartphone has to offer, shall we.
The UMi Fair will feature a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The internal storage will almost certainly going to be expandable, though we didn't get a confirmation just yet. The device will be powered by MediaTek's MT6735 64-bit quad-core processor, and will be made out of aluminum. The 2,250mAh battery will be located on the inside, and 4G LTE connectivity will also be available here. The 8-megapixel shooter (Sony's sensor) will be located on the back of this device, and a 2-megapixel snapper will be available up front. The fingerprint scanner will also be a part of this package, and it will be placed below the camera sensor on the back of this smartphone.
As we've already mentioned, this device will cost only $99, which seems to be really affordable considering the inclusion of fingerprint scanner, metal build and 4G LTE connectivity. Despite all that, however, this is still an entry-level handset. It sports MediaTek's entry-level SoC and 'only' 1GB of RAM. According to UMi's recently released teaser, and the new image you can see above this article (from Facebook), the UMi Fair will be a really well-designed smartphone which will sport really thin side bezels. UMi is expected to announce this smartphone really soon, so stay tuned for that.
