Sharp may be better known for its home entertainment equipment than for their mobile phone portfolio, but it has some interesting products with good designs, like the AQUOS Crystal and its almost invisible bezels. Now, the company has announced three high-end smartphones for the Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo. They follow the design of the aforementioned phone with very small bezels on the sides and the top of the screen while the bezel on the bottom is on the larger side. The company is calling this design language EDGEST. All of them integrate a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz.

The AQUOS Zeta SH-01H has a 5.3-inch display with Full HD resolution, it is covered with S-PureLED to make it brighter and improve the contrast levels, plus, the screen can change the refresh rate from 120 Hz to 1 Hz depending on the task that is performing, in order to save battery. The main camera includes a 13.1-megapixel sensor with a f/1.9 aperture and phase-detection autofocus. It is capable of shooting videos in slow motion, videos in Full HD resolution can be shot at 120 fps, while 480p videos can be shot in 210 fps. The front-facing camera has an 8-megapixel sensor with a wide-angle lens. It has 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. The design is based on a metallic frame and Gorilla Glass 4 on the front and back plus it’s rated IP55/58, so it’s resistant to water and dust. It integrates a fingerprint scanner and its dimensions are 139 x 47 x 7.9 mm and weighs 151 grams. The non-removable battery has a 3,100 mAh capacity. It runs Android 5.1 out of the box and the software has some improvements like swiping to take a screenshot and reducing the size of the screen to improve one-handed operation. Color options include blue, black and pink and the release is expected in November.

The AQUOS Compact SH-02H, as suggested by its own name, follows the same design language in a smaller package. The display measures 4.7 inches but keeps the Full HD resolution. The main camera is the same 13.1-megapixel sensor as the previous phone, but the front camera has a lower resolution of 5 megapixels. The amount of RAM is also the same and only includes 16 GB of internal memory. The hardware is also rated IP55/58 and it measures 126 x 66 x 8.9 mm while it weighs 120 grams. It will be available in December and it features a dual toned hardware in two options gray and yellow and blue and black. The third phone is actually a Disney branded AQUOS Compact, it’s called Disney DM-01H and it features some content from Disney characters and some decorations on the hardware. It will be available in pink and blue when it launches in January.
