Some of you have probably already heard of Oukitel, a Chinese smartphone OEM which tends to release really affordable devices and sell them via a number of China-based resellers. We’ve recently reviewed the Oukitel-branded smartwatch, and are currently working on Oukitel U10 review. That being said, this company keeps on releasing new devices, and they’ve released one such handset today. The handset in question is Oukitel U7, an extremely affordable smartphone. Let’s see what this phone has to offer, shall we.
The Oukitel U7 features a 5.5-inch qHD (960 x 540) IPS OGS display along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card). This device is powered by MediaTek’s MT6582 quad-core SoC clocked at 1.3GHz, and a 2,000mAh battery is located on the inside. The 8-megapixel snapper is available on the back of this phone, and a 2-megapixel shooter can be found up front. Android 4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed on this device, with some additions by Oukitel on top of Google’s OS. This is a dual-SIM handset which offers 3G connectivity. Now, regarding its design, Oukitel looks quite solid, even though it doesn’t sport fancy design or anything of the sort. This is a good looking phone overall, which features a bottom-firing loudspeaker. The power / lock button and SIM card tray are located on the right-hand side of this device, while you’ll find the volume rocker buttons on the left side. There are also three capacitive buttons below the display, menu, home and back, respectively.
This handset costs around $60-70, but Oukitel does offer the phone for only $49.99 on every Wednesday. If you visit the source link down below, you’ll be able to find the list of stores where you can buy this handset for only $49.99, along with all the necessary info to do so. The company will basically offer the phone for $49.99 to a limited number of users,, and for that price, this phone is quite probably worth it.
