Meizu is not one of the largest China-based OEMs out there, but it certainly is one of the fastest-growing ones. The company has managed to sell 8.9 million smartphones in the first half of this year, which represents 540% increase compared to a year before. As you can probably tell, this is a huge thing for Xiaomi. It is also worth mentioning that the company has sold over 2.8 million smartphones in August alone, which is also a new record for this Chinese smartphone OEM.
That being said, Meizu has arrived in India a while back, and is offering a number of its products over there. Well, according to the latest press release we've received from Meizu, the company has big plans for India. This smartphone manufacturer will unveil over 40 customer service centers across 20 cities in order to become the first smartphone OEM to offer a doorstep servicing in India. That being said, Meizu currently has 28 active customer services in that Asian country.
"We are happy to announce our entry into India through the MX5 and look forward to playing a leading role in shaping the smartphone market here. For the next few months, after-sales services will be the key focus for MEIZU. We currently have 28 customer service centers and are looking to take that number to 40 across 20 cities in the near future, to serve existing and potential customers better," said Li Nan, Vice President of Marketing at Meizu.
This is a rather interesting move by the company, and one that will certainly be welcomed by Meizu customers in India. Doorstep servicing is extremely convenient for consumers and very few people could have expected Meizu to do something like this in India.
