This Fall season is set to be one of the biggest in recent years for the movie industry, with films like Star Wars and James Bond returning to theaters the world over. Big draws like these often draw the whole family in and while the James Bond films recently have been a little on the violent side, they continue to be big family blockbusters, and Spectre doesn't appear likely to buck that trend. Recently, we saw Sony unveil a "Made for Bond" edition of the Xperia Z5, with Moneypenny's help of course, but it also looks like there's a game tie-in being mind by Glu, as well.
So far, not much is known about the game, dubbed World of Espionage, except that it looks like an RPG/world builder sans the 3D world. Instead of 3D graphics and action-packed sequences, it appears as though Glu have gone a more traditional mobile path and have created a game in which players can build up their own Spy empire, either for good or evil, and have players compete against each other in PvP (player-vs-player) showdowns. Classic characters and villains will feature in the game, and players can create there own squad from scratch, creating a force to be reckoned with. The game will sneak its way into the Play Store shortly, and while Glu hasn't given out a concrete date yet, the launch date for the film itself is October 26th worldwide, so the two won't be too far apart from each other. Of course, those wishing to "pre-register" their interest will get some welcome goodies as well, as if we didn't see a game company trying to line up players early.
This sort of thing was bound to happen, and while this sort of gameplay won't be for everyone, it's nice to at last see some sort of official James Bond come to Android. Those still waiting on a port of GoldenEye 64 to hit Android will need to keep holding their breath, but things could be a lot worse, we suppose. Those looking for more info can watch the video below.
