Google Maps Explore Feature Gives Curated Restaurants Lists

I think we've all been there, there are tons of options of restaurants or cafes in a certain area, but when it comes to deciding where to grab a bite, we have the hardest time to remember where to have the perfect meal to satisfy our craving. There are many apps that offer suggestions or reviews from experts and users alike to guide you on certain cities or neighborhoods, Google Maps even integrates some of those reviews and ratings right in the app, but now, Maps is being updated to make finding the perfect spot easier than ever.

The app got updated recently  to show the new logo of Google, but now the Explore feature is the one that's getting the update starting today. In the updated section, users will be able to find many categories depending on the time of the day they want to eat or type of food they are looking for. For example, if a user is looking for a restaurant at dinner time, just go into that tab and the app will offer suggestions based on lists of the best-rated restaurants or those that are new and popular, whether it's a casual place or a formal one or even the price. On each listing, users will be able to see the location, pictures, photos, ratings, and reviews. The lists will get more personal, as they will recommend places based on where other users who visited that certain place on a regular basis.

The updated Explore section is available in the US and the UK and for those in New York, San Francisco or London, they will be able to see curated recommendations on a select neighborhood. This feature is particularly useful as all is integrated on a single app so users can know exactly what to expect from certain places or get to know new places on their own neighborhood. Reviews from users can even suggest a specific dish to try out so users with a particular craving or a particular need such as family friendly or children's restaurants can know exactly where to go.

I got into Android with the Samsung Galaxy S2 and I currently own a Sony Xperia Z3 and a Nexus 7 because I really like the look of vanilla Android. My interests include movies, music, art and mathematics.
