The last few weeks has seen a ton of Google news coming through. Of course, the biggest of the news stories was that Google has somehow morphed into a new company which goes by the name Alphabet. Although, that is not strictly accurate, the sentiment was the same. The overriding company controlling everything Google-related would be the newly formed Alphabet company and Google would be more focused on its primary goal, Search.
Well, immediately following the news of the major re-branding, the company also launched a new logo for Google. Along with the new logo came a massive number of updates for their various apps and services and all bringing with them elements of the newly refreshed and more colorful icons and favicons which were in-keeping with the new Google. In fact, this updating took place across the web and mobile and it was not long before the Google App was updated bringing even more Google flavored branding to devices. That said, one app which had not yet seen the update arrive was Google+ which continued to sport the old Google+ icon. To some, this might have seemed to be in-line with the numerous reports of the service lacking Google love, howveer, that was not the case as it was only the mobile version that had not been updated, the desktop version had been.
Well, if you had been waiting for the update to arrive for Google+ then it looks like it is now has. The update brings the version of Google+ up to version 6.3 and along with it, introduces the new icon. Besides this, there does not seem to be too much else included in the update, excluding the compulsory bug fixes and and performance improvements. Either way, if you would like your phone sporting as much of the new Google branding as possible then this it is worth the update. The update is live on the Play Store and as such, you should be seeing it hit your device soon enough, if it has not already. If however, you cannot wait and would rather push the update yourself to your device, then you can by sideloading the update. Hit the link below to download the latest version of Google+.
